The Finnish School of Seattle is a Finnish immersion school that provides an educational experience for Finnish-speaking children and their families. There are classes for all ages from birth to teens designed around a curriculum that changes theme every year.
The school is a non-profit organization run by a volunteer school board. The board was interested in changing not just the look and feel of the website but in developing a new logo that was more reflective of the growth through education they seek to impart.
The old website had become outdated and difficult to navigate. Due to the volunteer nature of the board, the responsibility fell to one person to keep the website up to date which meant that the changes didn’t always keep up with the events happening at the school.
The new website is organized around the different types of site visitors who will use it. It has an administrative interface that allows those with access to keep the site up to date, and it has a password protected area where currently enrolled families can find personal contact information for other enrolled families, keep their own contact information up to date, and sign up for volunteer opportunities.
Online payment for both donations and tuition payments can be made directly through the site using PayPal.
